Nudist Short Glossary

The purpose of Nudism is to promote wholesomeness and stability of the mind, body and sprit

The International Naturist Federation defines naturism as "a way of life in harmony with nature characterized by the practice of communal nudity with the intention of encouraging self respect, respect for otusehers and the environment. "

These are some common terms used  in nudist culture.

Free Beach: A nude beach. A free beach is a public beach which has sections in which nude sun bathing and swimming is practiced

Clothing Optional: Wear a swim suit/ clothing... or not. Your choice

Landed Club: A nudist group with its own area where you can go nude. Landed naturist clubs are groups who own a naturist facility.

Non Landed Club: A nudist group which meets at designated areas. Non Landed clubs may meet at members houses, swimming pools, or nudist resorts

Nudist Colony: An antiquated name for nudist club

Textile: A non Nudist. The area on a clothing optional beach where swim suit wearing people congregate

Top Free: Uncovered breasts

Topless: This word is generally not used in Nudist settings as the term brings up images of strip clubs
